Lotta-Maria Pitkänen

A Finnish jazz violinist whose playing has influences from Arabic and Middle-Eastern music. She is a Master of Global Music (Royal Academy of music, Aarhus) since 2014.

She is leading and composing music for her band Journey to Arabjazz. She is working in the multicultural field working with refugees musicians, teaching multicultural school classes and playing along with different artist from all over the world.

The jazz drummer from Rome had the great pleasure to play with important jazz international musicians such as: Reinier Baas, Rotem Sivan, Maurizio Giammarco, Janusz Muniak. His teaching consist in:

  • Way to practice with the pad, rudiments (“Be a rudimental drummer”)
  • Phrasing with rudiments on drums, comping on structures.

A musician from Porto working with several projects as an alto saxophonist, flutist and a composer. Completed his Master’s of Music at Manhattan School of Music (2011). Integrates as an alto sax the Orquestra de Jazz de Matosinhos.
Works with different jazz projects and leads ZERO – João Guimarães Octet.
