A Roma singer, musician and dancer specializing in flamenco and gypsy music and dance. She was born into a Roma family in Finland. She started to study classical piano at the age of eight years.
She performed from a very early age together with her family in the Roma culture events. She holds a Bachelor of Music (MuK) from the Folk Music Department of Sibelius Academy.

Focus on combining traditional folk styles and their inclusion in a contemporary music context. The lessons explore improvisation techniques, harmonic concepts, rhythmic material and composing methods applied to your own instrument. Graduated from Berklee College of Music (2015) and University Complutense (2011). Master studies at The Royal Academy Music (Denmark) and Sibelius Academy.

About Anna Dantchev
A strong singer, seasoned performer and charismatic story-teller. Having explored many vocal styles, she combines her two cultural singing heritages. Story interpretation with embedded emotions is the basis for Anna’s artistry. She teaches Bulgarian traditional singing (excelling in Bulgarian laments). Anna has studied with Bulgarian masters such as Yanka Rupkina and Neli Andreeva.

Possibly the world’s northernmost flamenco singer. True to her roots in the Spanish art form flamenco, she is also a versatile musician who performs as a solo artist but collaborates across cultural and genre borders.
Lead singer of the world fusion group Bajo Cero and Flamenco trio Verso and a pioneer of Finnish flamenco singing pedagogy with more than a decade of teaching experience. Currently based in Helsinki.
